Obtaining OFEA Approval for Your Show
Download the 2008 Show Approval Application Form

Before applying for OFEA show approval, please read the following information. OFEA rules have changed.

Important rule changes affecting the show approval process effective Jan. 1, 2008:

Judges with guest cards
may judge only one OFEA approved show during each calendar year. The guest card fee is $10.

Late Fee for Overdue Show Results - Show Management must provide show results within 10 days of the show date or will be assessed a late fee penalty of $5 per day, for each day late, until show results are received. (The date of the postmark will be used for determining whether late fees apply.)

Amateur Classes -
These classes do not count for OFEA year end awards because they are restricted to OHA members holding Amateur cards. (Shows that do not also offer open classes for 18 & Over competitors will not be OFEA approved.)

Lead Line - Lead Line exibitors may not cross-enter into ANY other riding classes in Open, Schooling, and Gaming shows. OFEA's Lead Line year-end award is an Open Divison award for riding classes only. (If Show Management chooses to offer Lead Line classes in Schooling or Gaming shows, OFEA members do not earn points for those classes.)

10 & Under Walk Trot - OFEA rules do not allow members who compete in 10 & Under Walk Trot Age Division to cross-enter into ANY canter class in Open, Schooling, and Gaming shows. (If Show Management chooses to offer 10 & Under walk trot only classes at Gaming shows, OFEA members do not earn points for those classes because OFEA does not have a 10 & Under Walk Trot Only Gaming year-end award.)

Approved Helmets for Youth in Gaming/Hunter Hack - Although not a new rule, OFEA is asking all show managers to enforce this rule in 2008: All approved OFEA gaming and jumping shows/classes must require all entrants 17 years of age and younger to wear an approved safety helmet. Approved safety helmets are strongly recommended for adult competitors in gaming and jumping classes/shows.
